Crossfire at the bridge

It is small videogame. You have several soldiers. And your aim – is to cross a bridge. At the opposite side of the bridge – it is enemy. And you need to take a part in a crossfire, use a cover places.

And move to the opposite side of the bridge. Everyone is equipped with automatic guns, machineguns.  And you can from reserve take up to 20 soldiers.  Aim is one – to cross a bridge any coast. Game is a one screen game, turn based. With a retro style. Style of 80s computers.

 Game with text graphics about them – crossfire at the bridge. It is under impressions from movies about second world war. In a part where it goes active crossfire. At the bridge, for example. Somekind Call of Duty. But here it is everything in text. And it is a turn based videogame. And you control a soldiers, with a birds fly point of view. Group of soldiers are at the big bridge. It is a bridge, and even cars in theory can move through it. Maybe, even it can have a railroad. Long and big. Wide. Metallic. As imagination can draw it. Maybe, it is a grey day. Like last days of winter. Or summer. As imagination can draw it. All the graphics is textual. So, you can imagine everything you want. And, for example, little ducklings, are running there for some purpose.

So, lets back to the idea. By the movies. It is order – to cross a bridge with any cost. For this point, there is a game screen for this. It is written just like it. Cross a bridge with any coast. At the beginning, you have a 5 soldiers. But you can have more soldiers. It is a key feature of this videogame. In total, maximum it can be 20 soldiers. 5, in the beginning. And, later, you can add more. New soldier is to appear at start position at the right. In a random place.

And in main, it is a turn based videogame. It is playing. You are moving. Shoot. Reload, it is automatically here. And one by one you move your soldiers. Aim is simple – go to the left part of the bridge. And from the left – it is enemy to appear. Enemy is never ending. And his aim - simply, to be there, move. And to interrupt you. In your imagination you can dream about – like you are going through enemy patrol. And you are run in a big crossfire.

Bridge is open spaces. And a cover places. So, again, it has a time for imagination. Just imagine, that you play in action movie. But, with textual graphics, simple one. Such a minimal action. But, all the minimum is inside, and it is programmed. And hide your soldier using a cover place. And next one, let him run, at this time. And third one - let him shoot at the enemy, from his automatic gun, machinegun. But do not forget that enemy can shoot too. But you can count him as a stupid.

You can move all soldiers at the bridge. But it is not so interesting. It is more interesting, for example, every 4 turn to add a soldier. Or to imagine some situation with idea - they are going on a bridge one by one. At the turn every 5th or 7th. But no one will cannot to stop you to do it – to move all the soldiers at the bridge in the start of the game.

So, just to cross the bridge. Shoot and move. Cover at the cover places. And move. Move and try not to be at one place for a long time. Move at the opposite side. How much soldiers will cross the bridge – so it is your game score.

Game`s rules

Movement and what side soldier is looking at

Soldier is shooting at the side, where he looks. By a straight line. By line left-right. Soldier can move. Up, down, left, right.

While you move left and right – it is changing a side which soldier will look at. It is representing with symbols - < and >.

< - look at the left, > - look at the right.

A side you are looking at – it is changing when you move left or right.

While you are moving up and down – direction of view is not changing.

right ( point of view to the right )

up ( keeps direction of view )

down ( keeps direction of view )

 

 

Shooting

All soldiers are equipped with automatic guns, machine guns.

Though obstacles bullet cannot fly.

It destroys one enemy, if bullet see him.

Landing zone

In a landing zone you can add soldier with a random places.

They are appearing at the random point in landing zone.

If there are empty cells there.

Total, in reserve there are 20 soldiers, and 5 soldiers at the beginning.

 

Your scores:

Two types of scores:

It is counts killed enemies.

It is counts soldiers, which are crossed the bridge, those who crossed the bridge.

Bridge is generating random way. And it is to have a passages.

Enemy are with random way, endless counts of enemies waves.

They are moving and moving to the bridge.

A symbols for the bridge -  _  you can go, straight road. X – a cover or block. After this covers you can hide, if there is empty cell is near.

 Game is goings until:

Your soldiers are alive.

Or until all lived soldiers are not moved to the other side of the bridge.

OR Q for exit.

 

Cursor

Cursor is jumping along the soldiers automatically. All soldiers are under selection one by one.

And you give them different actions.

 

Shooting

If there is no ammo – then it is reload. It is made automatically way. It takes 1 turn.
