CELIA VOYDE LORE:
A restless soul tethered itself to an unfinished painting depicting the late Celia Voyde. Celia was a royal who loved painting but had struggled to create a masterpiece, ultimately passing away before her magnum opus could be completed. (This is the TL;DR)
Those who live in the manor where Celia's portrait is stored have said that sometimes, a ghastly apparition could be seen staring at it. Others have noted that a sound akin to weeping could be heard, swearing that Celia was the one who inhabited the painting and was mourning her own loss.
Even in death, she could not escape the reality of her failure. The painting is incomplete and she remains unsatisfied. Until the day comes when it can be finished, Celia's soul will stay forever attached to the painting, clinging to the idea of what could have been.
Extra information as lil tidbits:
As a ghost, Celia is colorblind, meaning that it can no longer see the colours it had used in the painting, or even enjoy any other work of art in anything but greyscale.
While she lived, art was her passion, and she took it very seriously, keeping to herself in her room, working day in and day out to create paintings. Not even her family members knew about everything that she was doing because she would scrap her work before they could see it.
The concept, lore, theming blurb, as well as design I came up with were based on these lovely people's suggestions. THANK YOU EVERYONE!!!
@Via_Starlight - Suggested the species
@FlashTheCat - Picked the gender
@Luminite_ - Decided clothing style + last name
@Glazberstudios - Chose first name + determined the character was AFAB + chose accessories
@Crystalized_Lunar - Picked out the hair colour and length, as well as her hobby!
@bonesthewolfanimator - influenced the direction of Celia's personality
@Mellobee - added more accessory suggestions + their ALT ACCOUNT gave a random fact
@code33 - decided character's height
In addition, I received feedback from people on Discord, and had I continued to concept designs, I would have pulled from French Rococo fashion, as well as outfits from Gothic Lolita fashion! ...and I would have cut back on the ruffles.
