December Devlog - Happy Undertale Yellow Anniversary (soon)!

General Progress as of 6/12/2024

Work slowed a little in the past 2 months due to the school term kicking in, but now that the holidays are here, hopefully things can pick up the pace once again.

I will also elaborate a little more on general plans for the future.

Are there plans for an area release?

Undertale Promise wasn't planned to be a very long game. It'll depend on how long it takes to hit some critical plotpoints moving forward, but I'm unlikely to release a demo of any sort, as it would cover half the game or more.

This also does impact releasing designs and in-game footage, as each fight is probably going to be a sizeable proportion of the entire game. That's why I have yet to release footage of entire fights, or even just footage of the full (short) gameplay of the Ruins even though it does exist.

That being said, here's a new soundtrack for Pacifist encounters, Towny Tumble:

...and a screencap from one of the pacifist encounters!

Beta testing has started. The game is about 80% or so done and hopefully can release by the end of April if the finishing levels can be made.

The game is already playable from start to finish, just some QOL, tutorial and pacing improvements left

More narrative details have been fleshed out, and one more minor fight has been roughly finished.

The game is currently being developed, and playable sections exist. The base engine (built on Godot 4 in C#) is roughly done, but more will be added to it as the game goes on.

Say hello to Poffoon! (Placeholder battle music)

Development has been going smoothly, though I expect it to slow a little in the coming months.

We made a lot of improvements on the Freezing Plains visual. Things like pine trees, tiny bushes, some rocks, and others game props!

I have added rewards for quests so that villagers can give you something in return for your hard work helping them. 🥳

I want to know - what's your favourite quest reward?

I was bored, so... ManutKat.
