DELTAFELL: THE SPRING SOON DEVLOG


Hey guys, Newi here. Sorry for not having an update for January and February, wanted to focus on development considering we have some new internal deadlines, and there wasn't much to update on at the time. Hope this works to tie you over.

LOGO

We’ve been talking internally about switching logos considering the old one isn’t as reflective of the current day deltafell:

 We originally were going to use the design from @souptaels ’s logo commission 2025, before switching to an updated version.

SPRITING

Spriting has been going pretty decently lately, most of the susie battle spritesheet is finished, and some revamps of old sprites like Ralsei’s face have also been completed.

Writing

Spellwork and stats are for the most part complete! Coding is something that still needs to be done but things like Blazing star is fully implemented, and Susie new spells are currently being coded in right now! I think people will really like the changes we’ve made with Susie’s battle role especially, considering it’s something I’ve never seen before in I think any deltarune take [possibly, I could definitely be wrong here.]

Coding

Speaking of coding, a ton of progress has been made in the new engine, and I can confidently say that there is only one major cutscene left in the light world that needs changing. The plan is that I’ll probably upload some footage to the main channel on youtube once the ost for said cutscenes is fully complete. As for dark world, like mentioned earlier a ton of progress has been made. Attacks, Puzzles, spells, and more have all been implemented. Along with that, some of the post demo content has also been coded in, although its a major wip.

Music

Music progress has been coming along well, with snow_berri rejoining the team we’ve started remaking a couple of tracks, The Classroom and Hometown theme are finished, and Legend is currently being worked on. We’ve come to the decision to (for the most part) Use our own brand new motifs for songs instead of remaking the old tracks. The reason for this being it’s a lot easier to change the meaning behind songs, and also just pitched down motifs aren’t the direction we want to go on in. An example of this is Lancer, but most of the ost already is using these rules right now.

Closer

As you can see, we’re slowly but surely making progress on the demo. I hope you’ll continue to support us on the path ahead!
