Dev update #7- Game Jam Version Finished!

Game jam version done!

Phew. So. I learned a lot from my first Twine-based game jam.

The good stuff-
I had so much fun writing! It was very satisfying enacting on all my draft twine passages and fleshing them out. Seeing my moderate CSS/HTML knowledge and twine macros come together properly since I last used them a year ago was also very rewarding.

The bad stuff-
SCOPE.
A terrible thing for writers, let alone designers of any kind. This project suffered scope problems even from it’s plotting. Technically, the game jam version is only a third of the planned writing of the game, let alone its absence of the digital drawings and gifs I wanted to implement. It’s definitely been a good reminder to take my plots, hack them until they’re barely substantial, and start from there, instead of beginning with a fully fledged tree of a narrative.

If you enjoyed this game, please feel free to follow! I will be continuing its development. I really liked creating this concept, and I can’t wait to produce more content for it.

Thanks for reading! <3

Dev update #2- It's getting late. When you’re so close to finishing the plot outline and your summarising begins to break down.

Dev update #5- Not a twine image! A work in progress preview of the layout I’ll be using for the game (right image blurred to avoid spoilers).

Dev update #3- Plan done! I may have gone slightly out of scope. But that’s part of the fun, right? Bonus: very spooky gif. Don’t click if you want to avoid spoilers! (http://i.imgur.com/1dT1gNt.gif)

We are under attack!

Shoobies leave a sticky trail of mucus in their wake, which can impede movement for any creature that steps in it.

Runestones: from concept to in-game model🗿

I have added rewards for quests so that villagers can give you something in return for your hard work helping them. 🥳

I want to know - what's your favourite quest reward?

"Our work is never over" they said.

OK, this starts to be too tricky puzzle already :D
