[Devlog - 04]

The long awaited, and final devlog before the DEMO releases is here!


For a long time now (almost 6 months ) I've been implementing a lot of mechanics to the game like saves, choices, relationship status, gamejolt trophies and a bit more. The majority of those systems are basically done exept for the relationship status.

And of course during that time like I said in previous devlogs, I've been making the levels that served for the first half of the prologue. I'm happy to tell you that the first half of the prologue is finnaly done , which leaves me with only the second half to make. The first half was the biggest part and took the longest time to make as it contained a lot of new levels and systems. But now that those have been made, the second half will only take a third of the time the first half did. The only difference between the two is that the second half will contain a lot of cutscenes compared to the first half of the prologue.


Now that all of that has been said, I can move on to more specific progress:

  • I talked about using codes in my last devlog, and so I decided it would be a good decision to make a code for a Level Select!

    Right now there isn't much to it except making you go to certain levels. As I may update the demo when it releases, I'll probably make all of the levels locked until you discover a level at least once to unlock it. But now I haven't made any decisions yet so I'll keep you updated if I change my mind about this! Also the code for the Level Select will only be accessible to certain people like youtubers and beta testers.

  • For gamejolt trophies, all of the trophies have been made and the art for it too except for one.

    The screenshot above showcases how the Gamejolt Login page will look like. Of course, the art and the interface could still change so don't take this as final footage!


In terms of new levels to make, only the cave remains. But I'm not gonna talk too much about that as it's spoilor territory .

As you can see from the first screenshot in the beginning of this post, I finished the second last new level of this prologue: the Dark Oak Woods.

The only thing that remains now is to make a lot of artwork and cutscenes in order to finish the demo, gameplay wise. Yes there is still some other things left to this prologue that I need to finish so that you guys can actually have a good and exciting demo to play with . It will be able to showcase the full potential of this game moving forward.


Okay so I think I talked about pretty much everything that has happened during those last few months of developement. I'll be working extra hard during the next few weeks in order to release the demo during summer. But it's possible that the demo will drop only after summer vacation is over.

Rest assured I'm doing everything that's in my power to get this demo to you guys as soon as possible (of course while not rushing it ).
