Devlog 2 - The Drawing Board

Hey everyone! @ed_ here, and I'm going to be writing the majority of the devlogs from now on.

So; the team has been (somewhat) hard at work to get this devlog out; and I'm happy to say that we've got some stuff for you.

Unusual Effects

About this.

Unusuals will not be in the TF2 style, as shown in our previous post; effects have been removed from the idea of an unusual, as we don't want that kind of "unusual" to exist in UFG. Rather, unusuals will be present in a more niche way; and won't be as valuable as an unusual you would find in TF2.

This parcially due to the departure of one of our co-owners, Indigo, I will not speak as to why he left, but he was responsible for the creation of the effects, which he asked us to not use for UFG.


New Map: Arctic

I'm very pleased to announce the second map's creation has been completed by @KnownToDark . The map is much larger and spread out, compared to the previous one, Museum. Here's some images.

New Models

Alongside the new map, @KnownToDark is working tirelessly to make revamped models for each of the mercs, here's some of them.

Miscellaneous Stuff

Want to know more about the mercenaries? One of our artists, Moony, went out of her way to make a toyhouse page. I don't know much about it, but take a look if you're interested.

I'm making custom faces for the mercenaries, rather than using ones previously made by ROBLOX. Here's one I made.

I know, I know, not much; but there's tons more which I can't be assed to copy and paste in, plus: It's a bunch of faces, man, they'll look better once we put them on the actual models.

UFG's story is beginning writing shortly, as all the storyboards and characters have been finished: Thus I can begin work on it. Of course, nothing is done yet; but the events of UFG take place during 2023. Why? Don't ask.

Progress reports are shown much, much more frequently on our Discord Server rather than here; so if you want to keep up to date with what we're doing, join the server.

We are looking for scripters, and musicians! If you happen to be either one of these, the form to apply is waiting for you here.


That sums up the devlog. More is to come over the months; and do not fret; We aren't going anywhere.
