Devlog 5
February's almost finished, and there are certain things that I need to address.
The first thing I need to make clear is the state of the game. While I have been pretty silent over the last month here, I can assure you that I have not been disregarding this project. In fact, as of the day this is posted, the game is fully functional and the main mechanics used in the demo work perfectly fine!

I am now confident enough to say that the game is coming along very nicely, and as I begin to finalize design aspects and add the final touches to the demo, I can build the basis for what The Gatekeeper will one day become.
Without revealing too much, I will say that the current state of the coding is far beyond what I expected it to be at the end of February. The camera system works fine, the shock mechanism functions exactly how I intended it to, and (after a little bit of trouble) Freak now moves in the air ducts without any visual bugs, and responds to the flashlight without issue.

The game's main menu works... like a main menu. The nights are beatable, and the jump scares work like they're supposed to.
I'm super excited to finally share this news, as I'm so proud of what this project is becoming. Thank you all for being so patient with me as I work on The Gatekeeper. As a little bit of an extra teaser, this time lore-related, here is a poster off of one of the cameras! Although the current version of this camera will eventually be remade, this poster will make an appearance in the final version of the game.

TLDR: Within the next few months, assuming all goes well, a demo should be finished and ready to release.
