Devlog III. : Heads Up and Jackets On!

Version 0.3.14 just dropped and while it’s not the biggest update, it’s one of the most important ones so far. The game’s starting to feel more reactive, more alive, and maybe just a little creepier. Let’s get into it:
(Sorry for the lack of a header, couldn't be bothered rn)

- The first part, changed/added:

🧥 Style Points

  • Random Coat Colors!
Every player now spawns with a randomized jacket or coat color. It’s a small touch, but it makes multiplayer feel a lot more personal and readable.

👀 Look Where You’re Going

  • Head & Arm Tracking
Player heads and arms now follow the direction you're looking. It’s subtle, but it really helps with immersion and also makes it easier to tell when your friend is staring directly at danger (or you).

⚙️ Settings Menu Rework (WIP)

  • I’ve started rebuilding the Settings Menu from scratch. The old one was clunky and didn’t offer much control. This rework will make room for proper graphics/audio/input settings down the line. Not much to see yet, but it’s coming together!

🐦 Imbir Update

  • The Guest’s (Imbir’s) AI is almost complete! All of his behavior logic is in... except for chasing. He knows where you are. He knows what you’re doing. He’s just not running after you... yet.

🐛 Known Bugs

  • Imbir might still get stuck in the ground sometimes (he’s working on it, okay?)

  • Head tracking might behave oddly if you’re spinning in circles like a maniac.

What you all think

In the quest for accessibility, I'm adding Resurrection Shrines for players on the 'novice' end of the platforming spectrum.

In order to unlock the power of a Shrine, you must collect 3 'Souls' from your dead corpses! (the floating blue orbs)
