Dr. Charles Crygor, born Charles William Igor, and more commonly known as Dr. Crygor, is an older scientist and veteran hailing from Diamond City. He's known for his heavily advanced and revolutionary work in the inventing and cryogenics field. He got his nickname due to the fact that when he was still a soldier, he had taken a bullet straight to the top half of his head in the heat of battle, but he miraculously survived. Nobody knows how Igor was able to live a gunshot to the head, maybe it was pure adrenaline or just luck, but he was able to fully talk and think. While in the recovery ward, Igor used pieces of scrap metal to build himself a metallic top half of his head, complete with an eye and advanced AI properties. He also was able to make it so it could track heat, EMF readings, and see in the dark all at their own presses of a button, not to mention it was bulletproof. His peers in the military were so impressed that he was immediately promoted to a scientist and medical position, where he was able to heal others wounded on the battlefield using the power of science and cryogenics. When his time in the military was over, Crygor was awarded a Starcrest Medal, the Mushroom Kingdom's equivalent to the Purple Heart, along with a Nobel Peace Prize. He had his last name legally changed to Crygor, liking how it sounded.

Nowadays, he spends his days working with Christopher Peterson at "Morning Star Laboratories", helping him with his research of time and his wife's research of space. He also is training his granddaughter, Penny Crygor, to be his protégé when he gets too old to do the job. Before this, she had a job at a company called WarioWare Inc, a game production company. Crygor had also helped at that company, getting to know the employees and the owner, Wario. Christopher and Rosalina did the research at MS, while Crygor and Penny did the inventing. All was well until one day, Rosalina went off to do a task Christopher had asked of her, and she never returned. Along with this, Penny had recently gone missing and hadn't been seen in months. He and Christopher were both extremely worried about them and decided to heavily research the phenomenon of time. That's when Crygor learned of the vengeful spirits. That man, Wario, along with his friends, had been angrily roaming Diamond City for God knows how long. He and Christopher quickly concluded that they had led to both of the girls' disappearance, so they quickly got to work.
