Many of you most likely thought that The Bloody River was over. Since ORNITHOPHOBIA (TBR remake) got cancelled, I don't know if you remember but, I promised you would get something from me as repay.

And here we are, almost 2 years later. After months of planning I'm announcing the sequel of The Bloody River called Dreamcatcher. This post is here to tell you all there is to know about everything that's going on!

The Bloody River sequel? I thought it was over

Yes, The Bloody River was supposed to end with its ending. Or at least you thought that. I wanted to make a sequel a few months after release but I didn't know what I could do, what the sequel should be about. Those who beat Hard mode know that Theodore survived the ending. After 2 years, finally, the final idea came to mind and there's many things happening in the script file right now.

What is the game about?

The Dreamcatcher, once called the Dreamtaker. It got renamed after the plans changed.

The game is a continuation of the events from The Bloody River 5 years later. It will have two modes: A singleplayer and a CO-OP, where 2 to 4 players will be able to play together.

Depending on if you're playing CO-OP or standard singleplayer you'll be playing as different characters. In singleplayer you will play as 2 characters:

- Quentin, a police detective who was forced to take part in the game, with several challenges that Theodore had prepared for him. He's supposed to uncover the truth behind Peterson and find the traitor in the police department who is, as they say, helping Peterson in the game. (But is it really like that?)

- The second person is Maritza from the first game. Five years after the events, she sees Peterson once again. Everyone thought he had died. She was sure she would never see him again. She, too, was forced to take part in the game. She doesn't know what happened to Aaron and Mya. She's supposed to find out what happened that night when Peterson's whole family fell.

In the multiplayer there will be more characters, with more story and purposes. You'll be learning about them through the game. You'll be able to play with friends and play several other challenges to to get to your goal.

But all these people have one connected purpose. Stop the monster who wants to destroy the Raven Brooks underground...

When will the first alpha come out? And will there be CO-OP?

The first alpha is almost finished, but it won't have a multiplayer. At least not yet, but maybe in future updates when the system will be fully ready to work.

How big will the full game be?

It will be big enough to be at least 3 GB... And as we know Game Jolt doesn't like to upload games who weigh more than 3 GB. So I came up with an idea on how to upload it. On Game Jolt there will be a TXT file with a link to Google Drive, where the game folder will be stored and you'll be able to download the game that way. Of course if the game ends up weighing less than 3GB I'll upload it here.

How long will it take to make the game?

After the first Alpha I'll start working on the full thing.

The maps and gameplay will be the easiest to make. I think I could maybe have all the maps ready in 2 months. The thing that would take the most time would be the co-op and cutscenes. I don't want to rush anything but I do want to make it as fast as possible and to make it look better than TBR which was very messy and buggy so it will take a bit longer but it won't take 2 years like TBR did cause I'll be focusing more on the full release than the alphas and betas like before

I can't really say too much more so I'll leave it here. It's time to start the next chapter. And this time, the game will be fully released. You can be sure about that. It's not my main project and it won't be a game that I'll spend every single day on, but for sure it will be something fun to make.
