Hope is an incarnation of Polaris, a deity worshipped in the Northern regions, who was sent down to help humanity. Specifically, those who have lost all direction in life and have hardened their hearts. He, as the North Star, seeks to guide them toward a new direction and find their purpose, sparking new hope within them.
At this stage in his life, Hope is a very softhearted and thoughtful child. He wants the best for everyone and can be thought of as a peacekeeper. He's too naive to grasp all the complexities of the world but through his time on the mortal plane, he will come to know the suffering of humanity.
Hope is able to communicate with Polaris and other Gods on the celestial plane. Rather than long drawn-out prayers, however, Hope speaks casually to them like a child talking to their parents.
