First release !


Today is the first release of Dodge it !

This is the first time I’ve spent so much time and energy on the same game project. I hope you will appreciate the result !

About the game

The game is developed in HTML5/JavaScript with the awesome phaser framework. I believe this is the future as it can be played on any OS and doesn’t require any download/plugin. Shame to see so few HTML5 games here !

What’s that sound ?

You’ve probably noticed that… There isn’t any sound or music in the game. That’s because I built everything myself, and I’m not good at making music. If you like creating music (especially 8-bit style), don’t hesitate to contact me and maybe we will work together to make Dodge it ! more awesome ! :D

What’s next ?

  • Sound…
    As stated above.

  • More levels
    Each level is unique so it takes quite a lot of time to create a new level. However I love this concept as it allows me to train my pixel art skills and to create awesome sceneries. I released the game today with only 5 levels, but I have plenty of ideas and I’m sure you will love them !

  • Gamejolt integration
    That’s what scares me the most right now. Currently there is no way to save your progression. Gamejolt has an awesome API to solve this problem, but it seems like it isn’t well integrated for JavaScript games. Hope this will change soon !
    I’m also planning to use Gamejolt trophies to spice up the game and maybe add some new mechanics. Wait and see !

In the quest for accessibility, I'm adding Resurrection Shrines for players on the 'novice' end of the platforming spectrum.

In order to unlock the power of a Shrine, you must collect 3 'Souls' from your dead corpses! (the floating blue orbs)

Explosive domino effect

Some time ago, we posted a screenshot of the Mexico level. A curiosity about it is that, like some other scenarios of the game, it was inspired by a real landscape, The Basaltic Prisms of Santa María Regla. It is one of the natural wonders of the country!
