The Night Guard does play a part in my AU, though not a very large one. After a certain incident took place in Freddy's Pizza, the restaurant was forced to shutter its doors, and the animatronics were deactivated indefinitely. The Night Guard briefly took a job for Fazbear patrolling the abandoned building for squatters and vandals, although he never actually came in contact with Freddy and friends, as they were "asleep" at the time.

However, he did have ulterior motives for taking the Freddy's job. Apparently, he was searching for someone very special to him, and took the opportunity to search the building for clues. Afterwards, he disappeared, his whereabouts unknown.

It's rumored he may be connected with the Purple Man, as well as the incident at Freddy's that forced its closure. Some say it may go even deeper than that and he may have been involved with a tragedy that took place at another eatery years prior. Most of this is based on conjecture and hearsay, however, and nothing is definitive.
