Hello everybody! I just want to start this update by saying that I am absolutely BLOWN AWAY by how well my last post did! So many of you saw what I had to show off, and I'm really grateful to everybody who made that level of outreach possible! I'm really hoping that we can keep the momentum going!
However, there's just one thing that I want to mention this time around, and that's that between the time that my last post went live and this one's going up, I did get some new people on board which is really cool, and I spent this past week or two getting them up to speed as to what the game's about, what their respective jobs are, etc. All good things, but the actual updates are going to be few this time around because I'm mainly working on getting development work organized (never had a team to organize before, so it's a learning experience for me as well.) There's going to be days like this where the actual updates aren't going to be as exciting, but that's all just part of the process. Just sit tight, and in future posts we'll have more to share!
Computech (Early Development)
Like I mentioned before, I got quite a good amount of additional help for Computech, and most of my time since the last post has been finding things for them to do and ensuring that they're capable. From what I've seen them do so far, I'd say that we've got some good hands on deck. I'm sorry that I can't offer more to share than that at this point in time, but good things will be coming further down the pipeline. Just sit tight, everybody!
Five Nights at Computech: Classic Edition (Programming Beginning)
Not a whole lot has happened with this project since the last time, however I did get an additional programmer on board so that way work can be done at a quicker pace as far as getting the programming in place goes. Looking forward to the increased programming efficiency!
Help Wanted!
Just want to make sure everybody's aware that although I have a decent amount of help now, there's always going to be room for more additions to help speed up the process and make the games better than ever. Right now the biggest absence that I have is having no programmer for Computech, even though Classic Edition is all set. This is likely going to be the most difficult thing to achieve in Computech's development, since with the kind of plans I have in place for the game, it has to be made in 3D. I've tried to find a way to work around it in a 2D setting, but it's just not possible without it possibly feeling clunky or bloated. I'm well aware that it's a huge ask to make, but this is a very special project to me, and I'm willing to build it up over a long while. That's not to say that development can't start on the game without a programmer, since there's a lot of things that can be done to prepare assets ahead of time and other such similar things, but the game can't really begin to take tangible shape until then. So for the time being, these are the things that I'm looking for more than anything else right now:
Programming (3D)
Modeling (Environments and Props)
And if you decide to apply or know someone who would like to, refer them to my contact information, either at:
My email ([email protected])
Or my Discord (silver.t.slates)
Also, I saw that there was some confusion in my last post as to how I do these things, so I just want to make sure that I state it clearly for the record: I will not respond to offers of help over GameJolt. If you genuinely want to help assist, all that I ask for is that you use the contact information listed above in order to reach out. If you do not, I won't answer.
Q&A
Once again, it would seem that there were no big questions asked on my previous post, but this section will always remain if there are any lingering or burning questions that you may have about my games or anything else. I want to make sure you guys are in the know as to what I'm up to, after all!
The End
I'm sorry that this post wasn't as big or exciting as the last one, but like I said before there will be days like this where there's not as much to talk about. I will see you all again next time, when the next update post drops on November 25!
TL;DR
No big updates today, most of my time has been dedicated to giving work to my new crew members and helping them understand their projects. Computech is missing a 3D programmer, so I'm still on the lookout for that.
In Other News
I didn't get up to much other creative stuff these past two weeks, however I've been working on a secret character model for Computech... and I have to say, it's looking really cool so far. Possibly even cooler than that scrapped character I showed off last update post... not gonna show it off for a while, but I hope you all like it when you eventually do see it!
