How to Play

Hiya everyone!

Biscuit the Seagull is a short platformer game made for the Dreamhack Dallas game jam that will be released on the weekend. This article will show you how to play the game.

Keyboard Controls:

A: Move left
D: Move right
Spacebar: Jump
Left Click (or primary mouse button): Attack

XBox One Controller Controls:
Left Joystick: Move
A Button: Jump
X Button: Attack

Other information:

Enemies:
Enemies are small blob-things around the map that shoot bullets. These bullets can deal one damage to Biscuit and give them either a frozen buff or a gravity buff, so try to avoid them. You can kill them by attacking them, which also gives Biscuit a small boost into the sky.

Powerups:
Powerups are little sprites that spawn around the map every five seconds, and upon stepping on them, the gameplay will be affected depending on the type of powerup. For example:
Heart: +1 HP
Syringe: Removes all buffs
Speed: Gives Biscuit a speed boost buff.
Lightning Bolt: Gives Biscuit a little boost into the sky.

More other information:
There is only one level. You must beat this level in five minutes and not lose all of your HP. The final boss is at the top of the tower.

In the quest for accessibility, I'm adding Resurrection Shrines for players on the 'novice' end of the platforming spectrum.

In order to unlock the power of a Shrine, you must collect 3 'Souls' from your dead corpses! (the floating blue orbs)

Some time ago, we posted a screenshot of the Mexico level. A curiosity about it is that, like some other scenarios of the game, it was inspired by a real landscape, The Basaltic Prisms of Santa María Regla. It is one of the natural wonders of the country!
