I am curious on your opinion, the feel about releasing monochrome games. I made a new game following the idea of starting strict prototype, built all functionality, then looking at making it pretty. Now I am wondering if I should release. Article or more.

So I decided to make a version of "Minesweeper" with my own twist of course. Basic discover the mines and identify, really simple point and click. I did this try out the idea of "modeling" an entire game, then proceeding with development... Worked quite well... For starting I decided to build a tilemap using KenneyNL's free monochrome art... Gave me a chance to create the world and get a feel, as well as do actually in-game creation... So I finished the prototype, and I am happy with how it works... However it is monochrome and there are no animations, nothing. I have been having the idea of switching art sets when I reach this point and make it look really nice... But the same time, I would like to release a little prototype of the active game....
I personally think launching a pure wireframe-like prototype with monochrome art is possible publicity, and something playable, however, is monochrome games a good idea?
Would like to hear your view on this. Would you release a game that is monochrome for play testing?

Development lately has been going slow, but I finally decided to get going by first polishing up a game I created a while back as part of a game jam... First time doing Isometric art... Look nice? Still needs lots of work tho :?
