I’ve been thinking about this for a while. The TM symbol that is in the game logo, I might have to ask my friends to remove it.

And this is for 2 reasons:

  1. The game has Sonic, which all related elements belong to SEGA and the Sonic Team. Could lead to copyright issues.

  2. It can trigger some people, and then they might start to make several rants about how “illegal” this is, which I’m not entirely sure, yet.

I do have the feeling that this game is somewhat original because my friends and I made up the plot and created our own Anime character in it, which is Lailah. But despite that, it does have several content form other games like Sailor Moon and Ghost n’ Goblins.

I’ve been so confused with this kind of mixtures in one game, and I have never thought of someone might do something like that. So, I decided to speak to my girlfriend. We both did agree that Heaven Saga is kind of our thing, but again, it still does have content from other games. So, we both decided to make some a bit of research. We couldn’t find of lot of sources that explains the exact issue, but all of us can agree with the fact that it is wrong to steal content and then sell it, which is illegal.

So, my girlfriend and I concluded that we have to remove the TM symbol, just to be safe.

And in case if some of you aren’t aware, yes, I already know a lot about copyright, trademark, and brand stuff. I’ve did myself research years ago.

I would also like to give some advice here for people who like to make fan games.

If you’re making a fan game, be sure to have at least some originality in it. Remaking a game is fine, but you might need to do some research about a certain company’s perspective, regardless.

As an example, Nintendo doesn’t like fan games (which means they can take down and/or sue any kind fan game they want). SEGA and Capcom, on the other hand, they approve and liked fan games (as long as they’re not monetized).

Those of you who make games on Scratch, yes, fan games made in Scratch can lead to copyright issues, no matter which engine or language you use. You can’t make a game and then love it solely, or else you might have to deal with legal issues the hard way.

Example: https://en.scratch-wiki.info/wiki/Removed_Pac-Man_Project

Not all companies like fan games or approve it. Nintendo for SURE is one of those who hate fan games. So, don’t make any Nintendo-related stuff. It won’t be pretty if they found your game. SEGA and Capcom liked fan games because they like to see how others love their brands and then make something extraordinary out of it.

But either way, it is still highly recommended to do research about a certain company before borrowing content.

Be careful on what you make. And just because you can do something doesn’t mean that should do it.

There may be finally some hope for Windows as the backlash from users and even enterprise businesses were strong enough.

I also heard they are probably redirecting their engineers to actually fixing real issues.

I would love to see how the legal battle goes...

Thanks for the 600 followers, guys.

It took me more than 2 years to gain 100 new followers. That's way too long, lol.

Akatori is an epic metroidvania where you wield your staff to fight, jump, and explore diverse realms across different eras.

It's also one of the games that's part of Steam Next Fest!

Play the Steam Next Fest demo now: https://bit.ly/Akatori

There is a special song I want to put in for phase 4 of the final boss, but it's 5 freaking MB.

Holy shoot, K&F VG 3 will probably over 100 MB total.

Be sure to clear out your RAM first before playing this game once the final release comes out.

Happy Devruary! Devruary Day 28 celebrates @Decrypt ! He's the game dev behind Fractal! We also have a question for the devs of Game Jolt: What game dev skill are you trying to level up next?

Words can't even describe how I feel about such a clown world we're living in...

Also supports game controller (with additional vibration functions)!

The Scratch Team has just recently updated their Terms of Service yesterday, letting you know they now have full permission to use your content to train AI models.

Forgot to post it here, but I have redesigned the majority of my Sonic sprite. Most gradients were removed, quills on his head, and refined eyes, ears, and his fingers are now visible on his darker-shaded gloves.
