When it's not making a sound, that's what makes it even more creepy because you don't hear it coming and by the time you do notice the Creeper, it's already too late. It explodes and kills you in the process and destroys whatever you were building at that moment.

Here's The Brave Little Toaster & Blanky as his cape. There was this one part of the movie where the appliances tries to find a way to leave the house & Toaster decides to use Blanky as a flying cape & jumps to fly, but fails.
