I've only played the demo of Minecraft years ago, but the most feared mob for me is the Creeper.

It just sneaks up on you and just explodes! Sometimes, you hear the hissing, while other times not.


When it's not making a sound, that's what makes it even more creepy because you don't hear it coming and by the time you do notice the Creeper, it's already too late. It explodes and kills you in the process and destroys whatever you were building at that moment.
