If someone were to ask me what differences and improvements I'm expecting in the highly anticipated Clickteam Fusion 3, I would say this:

First: Being able to place videos within the Engine -

One of the only reasons I'm insisting on Clickteam is because of its polish and accessibility.

Since practically all Clickteam games boil down to images and GIFs interacting with commands and scripts, the computer doesn't need to push its hardware too hard to run the game. HOWEVER, YOU CAN ONLY USE IMAGES AND GIFS!!! If you understand programming, you realize how limiting this is.

And a simple way to solve this would be to use pre-rendered videos for cutscenes and short animations within the games. Of course, Clickteam was never designed to make grandiose games with complex cutscenes; its focus has always been on shorter, simpler games.

However, it was because of FNAF and its community that the engine exploded! (I doubt anyone here knew this game engine before FNAF), and since even today its main clients are related to FNAF, whether fans or even Scott himself, I genuinely think they should take a look at this feature.

Second: Savage capitalism -

I think I'm not the only one who thinks this way when I say that Clickteam has a SERIOUS problem with the price of its products. Clickteam itself is basically $100!!! That's just to use the few limited resources of the system, allowing you to make a basic platform game.

But what if you want to do something slightly more complex on Clickteam? Well, then you'd better shell out another $380 DAMN DOLLARS for a USELESS COLLECTION OF DLCs to get just a few more features!!! Keep in mind that, like, four of these "DLCs" are just for you to EXPORT YOUR GAME TO OTHER PLATFORMS!!!

It can't be that I'm the only one who thinks this is absurd! AND REMEMBER THAT CLICKTEAM IS ONE OF THE MOST LIMITED GAME ENGINES ON THE MARKET!!! This rampant capitalism on the part of the developers is simply ridiculous, and I sincerely hope that this changes in this new version.

Third: Interface -

I don't think I need to explain myself much here; anyone who has Clickteam 2.5 knows that its interface is simply UGLY!!! And it doesn't help that most of the time you'll be spending HOURS staring at this interface looking for ONE line of code that went wrong because you forgot to put a comma when assigning a value to an object's variable.

Not to mention that it's not very practical; at first glance, the "check" system may seem different, innovative, and intuitive. But just using the engine reveals that this system is very flawed.

Sometimes you have SEVERAL lines of code in just ONE SINGLE CHECK!!! And good luck finding the line that's crashing your game with a single symbol representing thousands of lines of code at the same time!!!

So yeah, this needs to change.

Fourth and last: BUGS!!! -

This is more of a personal complaint than a complaint about the engine itself, but since this list is based on what I'm most looking forward to in Clickteam Fusion 3, I'll say it anyway.

BUGS, GLITCHES, AND EXPLOITES ARE EVERYWHERE IN THIS ENGINE!!! And I'm not talking about the game itself, because if that were the case, every game engine in the world would have to change because games are buggy.

But even in that, Clickteam manages to surpass itself, as it's the first AND ONLY game engine I've ever known that manages to bug EVEN THE INTERFACE!!!

Remember that the entire previous topic was just about the interface? Well, I thought it best to address this issue in this topic instead of the previous one.

Sometimes, the zoom in or out button simply DISAPPEARS COMPLETELY!!! You can no longer zoom in and out using the specific markings, nor can you use the slider to choose how much you want. It might sound silly, but trust me, this can be a huge problem when making your game and can drive you crazy!

And this is just ONE of the bugs that this version of Clickteam has. So please, no more bugs outside of the game, okay?... okay...

And that's it, those are my complaints and expectations regarding Clickteam Fusion 3.

I personally still find their programming system quite confusing, but then they would have to redo the entire engine, which I think is very unlikely to happen for a simple update (like from Unreal Engine 4 to 5).

However, even if none of this changes in the new version, I will continue to use Clickteam for my projects (such as "The Steamboat Willie", "Five Nights at Pineapple's", and others).

Because, as I said before, one of the great advantages of Clickteam is being able to make games that are very polished and run smoothly even on weaker PCs. Not to mention that I've already spent my money on this thing, so now I'll make good use of it!!!

Anyway, that's it for now, see you in a future post :D

Here's a new sketch concept art for Pete's design in "The Steamboat Willie". (much better in my opinion.)

I was thinking about doing something different with the FNAP characters' eyes, and making them look more like the eyes of classic animatronics like the ones from FNAF 1...

BUT HOLY SHIT NO!!! THAT JUST LOOKS SO UGLY!!!
