Cobalt Moon Prologue

Important update, please read:

In light of the recent updates to Unity's pricing policies, I will no longer be developing using their software. That means that Cobalt Moon as you've seen it will not be finished. I will release what I have, renamed "Cobalt Moon Prologue", and I will be starting over from the beginning with something simpler, using 2D graphics.

Unity's policy changes aren't the only reason for this. This project ended up being far more ambitious than I could handle as a solo dev. Even if I were to reuse all the 3D models, the animations are all Unity store assets, so I couldn't use them on a different engine. I realized a while ago that I bit off more than I could chew, but only now am I doing what's best for me.

I apologize to everyone who was looking forward to seeing the Cobalt Moon that I showed off in the demo. But even if Unity hadn't made this change, it wasn't feasible for me to finish a full game of this caliber. Thank you for all your support and keep an eye out for my future projects.

Cobalt Moon will shine down again.

One feature I forgot to include in the demo is a difficulty selector. Whoops

Here's the new mission select screen! Featuring sprite Akio. His posture has not improved

We got taunts! Not as many as the original unity build, but still

Working on some polish before I release a public alpha demo. Now Levi has different faces if you get the worst or best rank

"I think you've drawn enough pose sprites." "NO."

Showing off the new threat ranking screen. Honestly, sprite Cary Levi looks much closer to my original design for him. Goes to show I have far more experience here than in 3D modeling

It's President Irons! He's so nice. He would never do anything bad...

Base model from https://assetstore.unity.com/packages/3d/environments/urban/poly…

More cosmetic polish. You can see a poster for Akio's favorite show, Road Wolf, as well as his transformation belt on his desk

Made a nice little informational window for when you pick up certain items

Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like Godot has a good way to sync up particles with sound effects. But if you have a sound looping at approximately the same rate, you can't really pick up the difference
