(Major Update) What I've Been Doing + What's Happening


Happy New Year to those of you on Planet Earth. I have some news to share with you just in case you thought I died.

In case you haven’t heard or simply forgotten, everything I had created for this game was completely annihilated when my computer had a technical failure back in September, conveniently when classes started for me as well. I know that a lot of you are disappointed about this massive delay, just as I am utterly devastated about everything I lost on my computer, this game included. But feel no sorrow, do not grieve, there is light hidden deep within this ubiquitous darkness. From several months of silence and revaluating my life, I am proud to announce that this game is out of development hell, and back in full force. I am damn sure that we will see the end of my wild ride, but there is still more waiting to do.

First, I’d like to say that I didn’t want to recreate the game 1:1 as it would cause me to fall into fatigue, so I decided to make several changes. I have already talked about many things that are in this game from the previous updates, to which I guarantee about ~90% is still in. Within the days/weeks/months to come, I will spoon-feed all of you what I want to announce. This first of which are these:

For those of you who played “Shadow The Hedgehog”, those meter will give you PTSD. Rather than killing “good” and “bad” enemies to fill up the meters, they are filled whenever you perform an action that brings you closer to the specific ending. Oh yeah, if you are out of the loop let me tell you that this game has multiple endings. Adding another reason to play for three more hours. If you are wondering about the final sentence, it may vary from person to person. Whenever I play with it on I notice a few frames being delayed or acting a little slow, but it might be because the multiple programs I have open while making this game.

If you remember from previous updates the rank icons looked rather different, that’s because I ripped them from YouTube videos of people playing Sonic Adventure 2 and getting those specific ranks. While people obtaining “A’s” are abundant, do you know how difficult it is to find someone who has the balls to upload a video of themselves getting an “E”? The rank icons could be a placeholder, unless you all are fine with the choice I made (To be honest, I don’t even know what Sonic game these rank icons come from, it might be Dash). I made the option of choosing what portion of the screen the rank shall appear in because it annoyed the hell out of me whenever it would conceal a pathway in the center.

On a similar side note: Your mission, if you choose to accept it - is to help me with the battlebacks. I spent hours on end finding backgrounds to use in the battles, to which are now in RPG Maker heaven. So if any of you are willing to do so, find backgrounds from the inside of Space Colony Ark for me. I don’t care if you copy & paste a picture from Sonic Adventure 2, Sonic X, or whatever, “help me be a huge piece of sh1t and fu<k up everything.”


p.s. I updated the thumbnail and header, and removed trophies to make new ones. I will change the screenshots soon to more accurately represent the game as it is now.
