He's curled up to a ball with neck tucked (his defense mechanism which helps him better not to get popped by his long neck and to protect the nucleus from any infection. ).
The head tentacles are really short, but Pip really wants to appear masculine, that's why he wears those fake head tentacles in the first place. He also gets bullied for having zero arms (he's two legged for limbs). The other picture represents his younger self being bullied and outcasted by 4 dynos. One being his older brother on the top right having both arms, who is an abusive dyno who would bully his brother just to get special treatment. (Reference is coming later). We don't know what happened to 3 of the other dynos. Let me just point out there Colors.
Top left is Forest/Pond basically a tomboy dyno
Bottom left is just an ocean dyno
Bottom right is a Mountain/Ice Dyno
All 3 of them are spoiled by the humans in someway
Pip didn't even have his horns yet and was harassed by dynos but it all came down with his brother. I'll go back to this but basically put, this is the reason why he doesn't like showing it.
