New Look, and new features!

Alright, bad news first. The site went down yesterday (and by yesterday, I mean Wednesday, I’m writing this at 3 am so it was technically two days ago, hush), so I wasn’t able to report on the progress I made on the game. But now that the site’s back up today, I can show off what I’ve been doing!

Mainly, a proper level select for my game. Not shown here, I also implemented a pause screen for my game, which allows the player to either restart the level or just exit to the menu, and a system that will remove the earliest pause if the limit is reached:

Also, as you can see, I changed the background, hoping to make the game look less thrown together. I am also thinking of changing the red square soon, but that’s for another day. As for the blank space next to the level select, I plan on possibly putting in an image of the selected level there, or some form of information. We’ll see.

Next challenge? Probably add some more gameplay challenges, such as a key / lock system, or moving platforms, or who knows.

We are under attack!

Been working lately on lots of 'behind-the-scenes' boring stuff that no one really cares about, so here’s a guy playing the sax for some reason.

In the quest for accessibility, I'm adding Resurrection Shrines for players on the 'novice' end of the platforming spectrum.

In order to unlock the power of a Shrine, you must collect 3 'Souls' from your dead corpses! (the floating blue orbs)

Some time ago, we posted a screenshot of the Mexico level. A curiosity about it is that, like some other scenarios of the game, it was inspired by a real landscape, The Basaltic Prisms of Santa María Regla. It is one of the natural wonders of the country!
