TCOM: The Archives

Oh, and about that announcement I said I would do 2 months ago:

Just to confirm there is a "classic version" of The Curse of Maggie's in the plans. More info in this post.

For those unaware, The Curse of Maggie's had various versions way before the current one we are working on.

While most of these versions were discarded over time, the truth is, one of them prevailed to be almost, if not, almost finished.

The third version of the game had it all: in-game renders, HUD, base programming, a single idea of how the game would be. But then things changed after I decided to give this fangame a visual upgrade that followed the fourth version, then the fifth, then... nothing else for a while. This version featuring these models, these renders, the gameplay, all of it was saved in my hard drive during the past 3 years... UNTIL NOW.

During my free time I've been programming and reprogramming this old version of the game using the third version, as it is one of the most advanced versions of this project.

Our plans is to release this after the current version, if there is, of course, a chance to do so.

How will this affect the development of the current version?

It won't. This game version I've been working on it's just a mere curiosity of how would this game have looked like if it was released years ago, but nothing else, it's not a priority at the moment, and this has been proved by myself as I spend most time working on the current version.

Only way I can see this game version coming out sooner, would be if any game developer / programmer wanted to pick this project and work it with me, but there hasn't been anyone interested, so I doubt about it, unless anyone wants to get in touch with me and give it a chance.

So yeah, that's the whole message.

There has been amazing progress with the main version, and I'm so excited for you to see it soon! Big things are going to be announced in the next devlog for the main page of The Curse of Maggie's.

This is how the original Game Jolt page looked like before its deletion. This was screenshot some time ago, it seems like Game Jolt saved some small details or something like that. Look at how many followers we had back then!

Experimental animation of BB morphing into Halfway BB. These characters won't visibly transform like this in POPGOES Evergreen but it was fun to see how it could look. (2023)

Today's Fact: Around November/December 2019, I showed my first ever Maggie model. It was meant to be part of a model's pack remodeling Manuel's characters. And then the idea of a fan-game came to my mind.
