First things first - explaining what I meant by saying "Percy's Afterparty", and what the AU is even about. To put it simple - this AU is about Percy suffering from various nightmares. Yes, nightmares - however, not the same nightmares as the Bite Victim from FNaF 4, or Mary Schmidt from FNaC 3, but completely different nightmares, that you could see it as more psychological ones.
However, before I even thought about making the nightmares "psychological ones", I've drawn them as Massacreds version of Percy's friends + Pal (and his toys) and (never released on Gamejolt) - Playful Poodles. The name "Massacreds" came from the way they were drawn - they were mangled, gory versions of the original cast (minus Percy, because he was always the one, to see them). I didn't think back then about the story of this AU - all I thought about, when I first created it, was to make a unique take on the "Nightmare" versions of various characters, as I didn't want to make them copy and pasted from either FNaF 4 or FNaC 3, but their own people, so that's why I made them be the way they were (the compilation of designs is there, however, I don't recommend you to see it, if you're sensitive to hardcore gore), without even thinking deeper into the lore I wanted to give this AU. However, the only aspect, that was kept the same throughout the changes of the lore of this AU was who was suffering the nightmares - Percy.
One of the oldest versions I've thought about was simple: Percy's friends became the way they were because of unknown circumstances (though, if I thought about including Yellow Mutt into it, it would be Mutt's fault for mangling the poodle's friends), and he had to survive in his house. Another version was, that, due to what Pal did to him on Friday Morning, after getting repaired he would suffer from the nightmares of them. Then, there was a version, where I included Yellow Mutt. Then, there was an Anthro version, then the version, where events from the game didn't happen, and Percy suffered the nightmares, because of him witnessing springlock failure + Rowen going insane and killing Felix (Felix killed him too, so they died together). Another version was the same, though @MaddieCat2001 was helping me).
As you can see, I had lots of versions of the AU, as I didn't think first of lore, and then - designs, like I did with Paltronics' Experiments, but thought about the designs first and then - lore, which was a bad idea, considering how I never had a stable version of the AU even for months. The only things I did for the AU were:
An (unfinished) draft, which featured only few chapters and was slowly going through the plot,
An (unfinished) draft of the comic me and Maddie were both working on,
The designs of the nightmares.
So, I didn't really do much for the AU, except for thinking a lot about the lore and constantly changing the lore. I had various reasons why it was happening, for example was to give the Massacreds a weird sense of belonging somewhere, of even being a part of the AU, however I've realised in the past following days, that... They're not as well-done as possible, heck I could even call them "cheap shock value attempts", as I wanted to make something scary, so I went in the easy way and made the designs containing gore.
That wasn't a great idea, I need to admit.
I could make them look like shadows, or even - look grotesque, or even... Base them on various phobias. I could literally do anything else, while not including blood at all.
However, I was lazy back in the last year, and it came out as it came out. Additionally, back then I was suffering from a writer block, which wasn't really helping that much (plus I've got into a completely different fandom, so... Yeah).
However, now I know where I want the story to go, what I want to tell, and to make good designs, I can do a better job at showing nightmares, rather than just doing a cheap shock value thing. So, expect soon the redesigns of the nightmares, with some plot twists.
Before you ask why I drew Percy's design first for the AU, and not the redesigns of the nightmare versions of his friends was simple - I wanted to not make the same mistake ever again, and create the design for the main "hero" of the AU - Percy. I wanted to make him seem more "aged-up", make him look like something DID happen to him - you can see visible two fangs, you can see something happened to his right eye, you can see he doesn't seem cheerful, unlike the original Percy.
The reason, why I aged Percy up was simple - I wanted to tell a story from the perspective of adult Percy, who suffered from various circumstances as a kid, and who, in the end, got hurt greatly, because of the bite, that happened somewhere. I want to greatly show the effects of the bite, such as him losing a part of his frontal lobe, him dealing with partial blindness (the right eye is fake, he got it to not scary people off) and with... Him being a vampire.
That's right, Percy's a vampire now. However, why he is one, who made him be one? I won't say it, but you might find the answer in his reference (hint: it's a rabbit). I will also show the aspects of him being a vampire, so it's going to be interesting to see.
Before you will question, why I want to make a story for "Percy's Afterparty" now, and not after the prologue for "Paltronics' Experiments's done is simple - I feel like I could manage two stories at the same time, doing regular updates on both of them, so no story would be left behind. So, the updates would look like this:
The story for "Percy's Afterparty" -> "The end of Animatronics"->The story for "Percy's Afterparty"->etc. etc, up until either one of them would be completed.
Additionally, the story of "Percy's Afterparty" will be inspired by various games, such as:
FNaF 4
OMORI
FNaC 3 (partially)
Yume Nikki
And many more, so... Look forward to that!
Alright, that was all I wanted to tell you, see you soon!
