• Hope: The adventurous main character. On a quest to prove monsters aren't as evil as humanity taught them.

• Ragel: The first monster you ever meet in Mt. Ebott. Teaches the player about their soul, determination, and how to make it through underground. Seems to not be very fond of humans.

• The Hatter: A suit and top hat possessed by a ghost. Drinks tea with his crazy crew and Asgore. They are the second person to find you.

• Napstablook: Helps Hatter Hope how to act, spare, and fight.

• Hatter's Party: Long Ears, Mikey Kat, and Head Monkie. Likes to drink tea with Asgore when he is not busy.

• Echo Flowers: Flowers that can repeat voices of the past. Most are blue, but certain ones follow the following pattern... Blue, Cyan, Green, Orange, Yellow and now purple. Purple repeated... Your voice?

• Mettablook: You first meet the soon-to-be entertainer here. He will follow you throughout the underground till the GRAND FINALE.

• Asgore: After awhile, you meet the figurehead of the Old City. The former king, Asgore Dreemurr. He takes you in his home, heals you of any wounds, and gives you tea. You have a choice to have a tea party with your new friends before you leave Old City... Although, Asgore wouldn't want you to leave into a world that wants to kill you.
