This whole game started as a project to get acquainted with the flashpunk as3 library. Well, I have been working with the library now for over 4 months and I think this game deserves a re-do.
It is obvious in the current state of the game, that I haven’t done justice to the SHMUP genre. I made the decision a month or so ago—I don’t remember, exactly when—to revamp the graphics of the game, as well as the game logic and organization of the game as a whole.
My goal is to achieve both a nice looking minimalistic effect and a really nice, playable game. The current “demo” as I said was merely my exploration of the genre and the flashpunk library.
I haven’t had a TON of time to work on it since I always seem to be busy with school. Nevertheless, it has been coming along really nicely if I do say so myself. Here is a screenshot of the current state in development:
