RINSED - Open Alpha 0.1.5 - The Christmas update

Hello there!

I hope you are all doing well and enjoy the winter season so far. The Christmas update for RINSED just went live and in this small devlog I want to give you a quick overview of what's going on :)

So what's new in this update? First of all: This update does not include the new island or any of its features (even though it already includes a few items related to the big update as some sort of teaser).

The download size might be a bit bigger because the new Island is already included in the game files of this version but you can't reach it in any way in-game due to it still being very unfinished.

As a little Christmas event, there are now presents hidden all around the island. Those presents do not only include cakes and fireworks but rare and highly limited Christmas items as well! There is a Santa hat and a scarf to be found. Furthermore, a very rare item that will make reaching the new island much easier as soon as it releases can be found ;)

As already mentioned, fireworks can be found. If you can't get enough of them, you can buy them as well for small money at the western teashop in Kings harbor.

Besides the Christmas event, fireworks, and Christmas decorations all around the island, a few other things have been changed or fixed with this update:

-Fixed a bug that caused audio stuttering for rain and heavy rain

-Fixed rope climbing triggering a door sound

-Added Pickaxe

-Tweaked a few items

-Changed some item descriptions

-Did much work on the new island

-Added discord invite link to the main menu

-More secret stuff

We hope you enjoy this little Christmas update and we wish you all great fun finding all the presents! Updates on the new Island will follow soon, to get special insights into the development process make sure to join our discord server:

We wish you beautiful holidays and a great start in 2021!

A little sneak peek on the first Island you will be able to travel to by ship! This island features lush green vegetation, lots of flowers, new wildlife, and of course rare items and a few riddles ;)

As the glow stone cave was flooded and then isolated from the outside world for a few hundred years, it developed its own unique and oddly strange flora and fauna!

Its almost been a year since I developed "9:16" and im still proud of what I achieved! I tried to push the visuals to be as photorealistic as possible and keep the gameplay as immersive as I could. Give it a try and tell me what you think :)

Did you miss out on any of the games we highlighted from Steam Next Fest? They're all listed in the article. Check out their demos before Next Fest ends!

Hey everyone! I just wanted to quickly announce that 9:16 is now free for everyone to download! It's been a while since I worked on this project and I decided that I want everyone to experience this unique project instead of hiding it behind a paywall!

Akatori is an epic metroidvania where you wield your staff to fight, jump, and explore diverse realms across different eras.

It's also one of the games that's part of Steam Next Fest!

Exploring uncharted Islands always comes with a risk! What creatures lurk in the dark forests? What treasures await you in the distant ruins?

Make sure to pack some soup because travelling between islands will soon come to RINSED!

Released a very little very unfinished something!

Medieval times with zombies was always a thing I dreamed off so I messed around with the idea a bit in the past few weeks. This is by no means a finished game! But if you have fun with it: Go ahead!

Take a trip to Nostalgia Land in @JacksonG13 's Sky World 64, a cozy sandbox game that harkens back to the 64-bit era.

This survival experience takes heavy inspiration from Minecraft’s Skyblock!

If you ever wanted to get a better/closer look at your nemesis, this is her! During development I nicknamed her "Emma"
