Safari can no longer load any Scratch GUIs anymore due to a change with iOS 17.

Big L.

Edit 9/27/2023: This bug was somehow fixed, I can open projects with Safari again.

Before, it loaded projects just fine, and it’s been like that for years…

However, I just upgraded my iPhone software to the very recently released iOS 17, which also updated the Safari browser. But now that I got the upgrade, it also made things a bit more weirder.

Besides that, the biggest drawback here is now that Scratch editors (either the original or the mods) is no longer operational on Safari anymore. It now crashes immediately before it even loads anything. TurboWarp did thankfully pulled up error details, and as it says in the screenshot above, it says:

null is not an object (evaluating
'a.constructor')

The only solution for this now is to download a different browser. Edge or Bing still loads projects and everything, but Safari can’t anymore, at least for iOS 17.

If you have an Apple mobile device like an iPhone or iPad and have iOS 17, and if you want to view projects on there, I recommend downloading different browsers.

I highly doubt this will be fixed. Nonetheless, none of us knows anyway.

The Scratch Team has just recently updated their Terms of Service yesterday, letting you know they now have full permission to use your content to train AI models.

Microsoft is now technically trying to convince people on why AI on almost everything is a good thing with their new "Second Thought" series.

This just proves my point that they have an entirely different vision on this tech than the rest of us.

I used Edge for pretty much half of my life, and it's a pretty good browser for me, but I do have to say...

I still don't see it as an "AI browser". 😂

All of the core functions are fundamentally the same. The only true AI thing is the Copilot sidebar.
