That's because it was based off a controversy around Read (The one with black hair) and Ivy (The one with dog ears) when they were racing in Yamaha in 1968
Yamaha made a team order where Ivy gets the 250cc championship and Read gets the 125cc championship, but once the latter wins the 125cc championship, he decides to disobey the team order, and so he battles with his teammate for the 250cc championship, which ended up in them tying on points and race results, then the FIM, instead of awarding Ivy, it awards Read, and this disappointed Yamaha so much to the point of dismissing Read from the team, but that also made Ivy retire from motorcycle racing to switch to Formula 2
