Basically you need to help a little being called "Bit" survive 45 seconds. But every time you fail, you go back in time and are able to buy Cards that might help you survive longer.

The first 5 levels basically serve as a tutorial for the main mechanic and basics of the game.
The last 4 levels before the boss are just a combination of previous mechanics before the final challenge.

Mae Borowski is the main character of Night in the Woods! It's an adventure game that tells the story of her return to her hometown of Possum Springs. She was confirmed as canonically pan in a social media post by the game's creator Scott Benson.
