Game
Chica's Party World: REBAKED

Someone asked on Twitter for a comparison between the high and low poly models for Chica, so I figured you guys would like to see that too. Same design this time around!

Also as a small clarification from the last post, since it seems a lot of you either haven't played the original clickteam version, simply never noticed them, or are just confused on the matter:

YES, the high poly characters are being used within the game. NO, they are not being made for a "high poly game mode" as there's no good reason to do that outside of other's personal preference, and it would take AGES to have to remodel literally everything in the game AGAIN from scratch, in a completely different style, and even more past that.
There's far too much work that wouldn't justify the little return, so no, that's not a thing that's happening. (Hopefully now I won't have to keep reitterating.)

I don't mean this in a hostile way at all, I feel the need to say. If someone likes the low poly more than the high poly or vice versa, I have no problem with there being a personal preference! But to say that one is objectively better than the other rather than a matter of taste takes away from the appeal of both, and I think that's a shame.

A large part of Rebaked's visual identity IS its low poly/pixel posterized style, and I have no intention of taking that away. Besides, right now I'm far more focused on creating a better gameplay experience from what the old co-dev left behind. We're taking a lot of player feedback into account on things like voices, audio cues, story clarification, and gameplay mechanics, so at the moment I'm far more concerned about making a FUN game than doing a massive overhaul of changing visuals based on personal preference.

Again, absolutely NO problem with someone who prefers one over the other. Even better if you like both equally like I do! But there's a lot that goes into 3D game design that has to be accounted for, and unfortunately we can't always account for everyone.
But regardless I still love to hear opinions and discussions about the characters, through both their designs and their personalities and stories. :)
