Somewhere Over the Rainbow...

To end this year's Pride Month with a bang, I've recreated the cover art from the late and great Israel Kamakawiwoʻole's 1993 album, "Facing Future", featuring Shadow Freddy!

Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

This article here is just for me to express my personal feelings currently, and you don't have to read it at all (knowing Gamejolt users, no one's gonna read this), but...

Although we're already halfway through 2024, I must say that this year has been INCREDIBLE for me. My art has been getting better and better, and I've come across so many new/old friends that it's hard to keep track! Without a doubt though, I would say June is (so far at least) my BEST month of artwork since last year's October art. But it's not for no reason. Pride Month in general is a time when everyone gets together and recognizes how important the LGBTQ+ community is to us. We make art, we dance, we sing, we laugh, and most importantly, we are our true selves. For at least one month, we let the world know that we exist and that we matter. I know it seems so difficult right now with all the pain and tragedy happening in the world, but it's so important to cherish memories and loved ones so that we leave behind a legacy. No matter the land you live in, you absolutely matter, and if no one else can see your humanity, I certainly do. Know this: I like you just the way you are. We all have flaws, but that's what makes us human. No one can fault you for feeling a certain way, it's just the way your body feels. You know, I've been feeling a certain way too, and I think with the support I have, both online and offline, I think I can finally come out of that closet and announce it...

I am bisexual.

Ever since I was a kid, I felt a certain attraction to both men and women. I thought guys with muscles were so cool, and that women were so hot. I wished I could have BOTH features (that's a story for a WHOLE other day!). As I got older, I started to understand that I wasn't alone on this. People also loved being with both men and women! Growing up in a progressive household (at the very least, understanding), I still kept it to myself out of fear of judgment by close friends (this was still the late 2000's). Once I got to high school, I started to finally understand myself. Yes, it IS ok for me to like both men and women. Yes, it IS ok to not know who you love. Yes, it IS ok to love whoever you feel is the one. All of this is to say, that just as I helped people here discover themselves, I too also helped myself. I want to thank you all for sticking by me even when I first started Gamejolt so many years ago, back when I was pretty dumb honestly. I've truly grown since that era, and I dedicate my life to helping others. For anyone still reading this, I'd like to end this message with a beautiful quote I thought up: The sun may set every day, but a rainbow will never disappear.
