Y'know that trope when a character is just like "I don't want anyone to worry about me!" and give no further explanation nor any valid reason as to why they don't want anyone to worry about them?
In my opinion, that's bad writing for a character.
Don't get me wrong, it can be good depending on what your story is about (and if it's just for satire purposes); and that could also mean that you just don't have a reason and are still working on a good reason.
Let's take my son: Hatsune Boyfriend for example. - (BBI: REWRITTEN AU)
I wrote him with some mental disorders, besides his ASD and ADHD; and he has Athazagoraphobia and autophobia (abandonment). He has this mentality as well of "I don't want anyone to worry about me!", but he has his reasons.
He always puts others before himself.
He thinks that he'd be wasting their time by letting someone take care of him and help him through his issues.
His emotional intelligence has been heightened due to the coma he experienced, making him worry about these things more than before he went under that coma.
When all of these things are put together, you have a well thought out and good character if portrayed well and not poorly. If you portray things poorly, that tells me that you don't care enough about what you're doing with your character and don't care about researching things.
But, then again, this is my own opinion. This isn't to make fun of anyone's work nor their characters, and this is NOT meant to be interpreted as being mean to others.
This is just my own opinion when designing characters personalities and mental states, as I like it when things in stories make sense and connect perfectly, or at least decently.
And if this helped in anyway when making characters, I'm happy that this helped!
