Every now and then, corruption will spawn at a location. These will cause errors that will need to be repaired. Otherwise you risk buildings being destroyed. If enough of them go, it can cause a simulation reset. Phil will also be affected, and looks like he’s had a few too many coffees.
You use the core override to fix the errors. Which is normally used to increase production of your buildings and the speed of your transporters. Although this ability can be risky, since doing it for too long will cause an overload. Which will stop all transporters from working. Which you can see by them smoking profusely! However this can also stop the progress you’re making on fixing the errors at the given location, allowing for the building to get more corrupted! So use it wisely. Luckily here, we managed to get rid of them all.
