Lots of work is to be done with this before I believe it will be added to the game. The animations and basic framework are in place now, however. The Hampton 500 Shotgun can be used to fire at enemies, most notably, monsters. SWAT enemies can be shot, but their armor proves impenetrable to man-made projectiles. The most you'll get is knocking a SWAT enemy back and on the ground for a moment, but you may be able to kill some monsters with the shotgun.
It will most likely come in later in the game, perhaps Level 1 or 2, and shells will be sparse all throughout, as they can only be found in Military containers or on Military corpses. I'd like to balance this as well as I can with it being a horror game - if the player is too overpowered it isn't scary. But if they're too underpowered it isn't fun.
