The Cheat Code to open up the tollgate without paying

If you're at a tollgate in this game, and there are about four, if I remember correctly, there is a little cheat to get past them. You'll need plenty of room to do it, though.

  1. Jump to the left.

  2. Take a step to the right.

  3. Wait until the idle animation. The hands should be on his hips.

  4. Duck.

  5. Look upwards, duck, look upwards, duck, repeat until the gate opens.

Why am I bringing this up now? Well, I forgot about it.

There. Another hand angle. It shouldn't have taken me this long, but this isn't my day job.

If I know what I'm doing, I can flip most of that hand, easily.

I made an up-to-date trailer for Terry's Treasure Trouble!

You know, in case it wasn't clear what kind of game this is.

...well... This is awkward.

Yes, I CAN make an animated background within a matte, with a shifting color palette. However, I realize this doesn't look like lava, no matter which way you shake it.

...the effect's cool, though.

What's taking me so long? Designing assets for the volcano level. Also, allergies.

Boom boom acka-lacka-lacka boom, boom boom acka-lacka boom boom.

It doesn't matter if you're drawing in pixels, by hand, or with polygons. Hands are hard to draw, period.

If you've had your fill of games where you play as elephants and blue hedgehogs, this might be for you.

...and I haven't advertised this the best, but it's coming.

Behold, blending vertex positions!

Old position + ((number between 0 and 1) * the difference between the old and new position)

This took so much math, it hurts. ...not the CPU, but it sure hurts me to do.

...and I've got four more angles to do this with.

I forgot I designed the auctioneer recently. If there are robot maids, there are robot butlers, too.

...and yes, I did get inspiration from Jughead. What was your first clue?

The hands have now been drawn.

Now, I'd better program something that does the math for me to do that polygon-blending trick.

Almost there...

Thankfully, the fingers can be flipped around for the opposite direction.
