This tragedy sets off a chain of events, with William going on to kill five more children at the new Freddy Fazbear's Pizza location. These children's souls possess the main animatronics—Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, Foxy, and Golden Freddy—seeking revenge. Meanwhile, William's own family is torn apart; his youngest son, Evan, dies in the "Bite of '83," while his daughter, Elizabeth, is killed by her own animatronic, Circus Baby, which was secretly built by her father to capture children. However, William Afton's consciousness survives as a digital virus called Glitchtrap, which infects a new line of animatronics, continuing his murderous legacy into the Freddy Fazbear's Mega Pizzaplex, where a boy named Gregory must survive with the help of a friendly Freddy animatronic, revealing a new antagonist called The Mimic that is the source of the virus.
