The graphics and post-processing of my game have evolved significantly...

The screenshots are arranged from oldest to newest. The first two have cats in them cuz of a browser extension I have for YouTube.

The origin of this game was this: I wanted to make a game for a christmas fair in the secondary school I went to. So a few tutorials and a bit of texture design later, and you get the contents of the first screenshot. That version of the game wasn't that popular at the christmas fair, but I saw a bit of potential in it, so I held on to the assets.

Later on, I would develop a spinoff named "Summer Heat" for the summer fair at my school. This version got put together in just a couple days, as I had gained more mastery of the Godot Engine since. None of the screenshots show that version. That version was ALSO not very popular, like it's predecessor.

Then, I began developing Permafrost, which would focus on being open-world, possibly multiplayer, and competitive...that version is in the 2nd image. I randomly stopped developing Permafrost at one point, and almost forgot about it...until...

10 months later, in college, I would be asked about how I would be involved in it's upcoming yearly charity event. A charity event that was centered around gaming. I mentioned Permafrost, and asked if maybe I could host it as one of the games at the event. They said I could.

I would begin to refurbish Permafrost, to turn it into an arcade-style game, for an upcoming charity event at the college I go to. The third image shows the textures and rendering for the game, from 3 days ago...

The final image shows the current textures and rendering.

To sum things up, this game has changed a LOT since the first version of it. Now there's two playable characters instead of just one, the game's music has SIGNIFICANTLY evolved, and the mechanics and controls have been both expanded upon and tweaked.

A house I've built a while ago. :)

It nicely separates the snowy biome from the grassy one.

It's built with painted Ebonstone.

OK, this starts to be too tricky puzzle already :D

Some time ago, we posted a screenshot of the Mexico level. A curiosity about it is that, like some other scenarios of the game, it was inspired by a real landscape, The Basaltic Prisms of Santa María Regla. It is one of the natural wonders of the country!

The Authority decided to investigate the Basement and leads to recovering classified documents Fun fact: The building has 928 doors and not 1000 doors. #horror
