Simple, Simon has gills.

His kind has Gills, and it is definitively not an excuse because i totally did not forget to add his nose.

How come the concept art show a different outfit for Jigoku?

Originally, Simon would wear some robes, this was later changed to a more darker outfit.

What Species is Simon?

Unlike Retronians, Simon is an Anti-Retronian, persay, he is somewhat like a Viltrumite merged with whatever Ramamba from Garten of Banban 0 is.

Why did Simon attempt to kill Matthew?

Simon knew that Igor and Katherine were not focused, all because of their 6 children, it was at nighttime when Matthew and Xavier tried to sneak out to the plateau, when Simon caught them both, ordered Xavier to go to the hibernation pod, and got Matthew outside, ultimatly harming him and giving him that scar, as well as loosing his limbs in the process.

Matthew that day, was traumatized.
