The year 2024 has arrived - Results of 2023 and further plans


With a slight delay, I am ready to tell you everything that happened to the game in 2023 and what will happen to it in the following years.


Delayed release of the game

As you know, the game was originally planned to be released in October 2021, but this did not happen. At first I thought that the problem was that one of the people in the development was not coping with his task, but then I realized that the problem was with me all the time. I did nothing but invent and command everyone, believing that they would give up all their everyday business once they agreed to help. As a result, my stupidity led to the fact that everyone who participated in the creation of the game moved away from this. As one wise man told me, we were not a team.

I have been trying to deny all this for a long time and, under the pretext of developing another game, decided to get away from the problem that I created myself, talking too much about a high-quality and imminent project (which another wise person also warned me about). But then it turned out that without an artist and a composer, I couldn't do anything about the "Incident" and after several futile attempts to find someone, the time came when I couldn't work on anything. Let's not talk about it, so as not to create unnecessary drama.


My return to the game

Towards the end of 2023, trying to cope with my problems, I reached the point of replaying a series of games Five Nights with Froggy. And so, I once again remembered how it was — the beginning of the creation of the "Sister's Garden". I opened the file with the plot, then opened the file with the old plot, read it all and realized that I had to keep the promise. It may not be timely, but it must be done. Having opened the source code of the game, left by the last person who worked on the game, I... I didn't understand anything. For about a week I tried to do something, getting desperate (sorry for the drama, I won't do it anymore), but there was no progress. And so I decided that I would take over the entire development of the game, starting to make it from scratch.


Unexpected help

Although I decided to start developing the game, I still had to cope with an almost endless barrage of problems that really interferes with my performance. And one day I got a message from @FantasticalGamesW who asked if he could help with the development of the game. To put it mildly, I was very surprised, especially considering the past and how people didn't like working with me. I even talked him out of it at first, talking about all the difficulties and gave him a probation period for 3 tasks. After the first one, I realized that he was really suitable for working with the game. I was pretty glad that someone, after all this time, remembers the game in a good way at all and even volunteered to help.

Later, I decided to try not to pay attention to my problems and revised the game in a new way. I could see that something was wrong, but I couldn't figure out what it was. And so, during another viewing of old and nostalgic FNwF videos, I saw that the words of one of the game developers were true: "Sister's Garden" is too different from the original FNwF. Their style was too different and was more similar to FNaF and other games (even after I made a remaster and completely changed the concept from the very first one, which was a complete copy of Sister Location). So, I decided to ask for help from my friend, a connoisseur of the series "Five Nights with Froggy", who does not hate me and does not consider me a stupid liar.

This person is @ClaytheHamster , my great friend and the beta tester of the game (at least, he was supposed to be and was once). He agreed to help, for which I am very grateful to him, because I myself can no longer come up with something that does not resemble an already existing and widespread concept. In addition, he is also a person who knows almost everything about the game, because now he is one of the main persons in the development of the game. I am sure that together with him we will be able to give the game, which I am now creating anew, the very unique and atmospheric style that it has always lacked.


Developing the game with my hands

Since now there has been a change of plans and instead of the "Incident", the priority is "Sister's Garden", I hope that I will be able to pay enough attention to the game. It has always been difficult for me to work at Clickteam, and without video and accurate guidance, I simply could not do anything on my own. Even the main menu of the "Incident" was made solely thanks to the tutorial video.

But, I have one very harmful trait — I can never give up and give up everything. It was always in my nature to go all the way, so I will continue to learn how to work on the engine and even with the help of videos I will develop the game. It may be difficult for me, but I will do it, because I promised the release of the game and I did nothing during the development of the game.

I understand that in my case it would be better to start with something simpler, rather than a FNaF fangame (again, the words of a wise man. A man clearly wiser than me), but I talked too much, made too much noise with all this. So, I just have no choice but to develop the game myself at any time possible.


Innovations and corrections of old errors

I have already said that I could not come up with anything new to change the concept of gameplay and the game as a whole, but... It's a little different. I've come up with something. A few innovations, but not bad ones, I think. I can list them to you, because almost all of them are related to the test gameplay that you could see in the teaser trailer of the game.

Innovations

  • The main innovation in the game is that the concept of survival for a certain amount of time used to be in the game only in some moments, but now it will be present every game night

  • The phone will be available in the game at any time of gameplay (except for some moments)

  • Some toys will have more game time than they had before

Correction of errors

  • Now in the Center of the Royal Garden, the windows in the hedges have a glass texture

  • The rotation to and from the windows will be carried out by rapid attenuation and appearance

And, of course, about the most important mistake...

"Fairy tales become a nightmare", when it should be "Fairy tales became a nightmare". I noticed this mistake relatively recently and missed it a long time ago out of my own stupidity. Unfortunately, the one who created the game logo is no longer present on Gamejolt and I no longer have the opportunity to contact him. Therefore, I decided to fix this error when the game is ready for release. Most likely, it will be at the release of the first trailer of the game.


When will the demo version of the game/ the full version of the game be released?

I can answer this question directly: the release date is UNKNOWN.

I don't want to make false promises anymore, more precisely, even more than I have already given, so I will just develop the game and be sure to let you all know if something important happens.

But I can only assume... Perhaps I will not release a demo version of the game, but will release the game immediately in a ready-made form. But if circumstances require it and any part of the game cannot be made, then in that case I could release a demo version of the game.

I didn't talk about my problems, which reduce my energy and efficiency, just because I understand how insignificant and stupid it would look compared to billions of people with problems that are really much worse than mine.


And so, the year 2024 has arrived. I hope and believe to the last that it will be productive and successful for me and for each of you. I can say with confidence that this year will be completely devoted to working on the new "Five Nights with Froggy: Sister's Garden", which I will not be ashamed to introduce to all of you, people who are still waiting for the game to be released, laughing at me for the delay or not, or those who have not been waiting for anything for a long time. Just know that the game will come out, because now I'm doing everything for it.

I also express my huge gratitude to those who are currently helping with the development of the game! Thank you for still believing in the game and giving your invaluable help in this!


It is equally important for me to thank those who created the main series of games "Five Nights with Froggy" — Gleb Kapustin and Artyom Shekhurdin! Thanks to them, not only the above series appeared, and not only the "Sister's Garden" based on it. Their series of games really helps me now, because it has a pretty strong effect on my condition, my performance and... yes, I did not do without drama at the end. I'm sorry, but I wanted to tell the truth and say "Thank you". I wish them that this new year and all the following ones will be the best and most successful for them, as well as that everything in their lives will be smooth and happy (well, as much as possible in our harsh reality)!
