Lamentablemente, no tengo mucha energía para un evento salvaje y loco este año. Hacer una newsletter cada tres meses es un poco como celebrar el aniversario todo el año.

En otras palabras, ¡este año solo quiero irme a dormir!

Para celebrar esto, Fangamer ha creado artículos conmemorativos con temática somnolienta de UNDERTALE.

El 20% de cada pedido anticipado de camiseta o manta se destina a organizaciones benéficas, en beneficio de AbleGamers. Seguro que necesitas otra camiseta para usar como pijama, ¿no?

Hablando más en serio, ¡muchas gracias a todos los que están leyendo esto! Significa muchísimo que tanta gente haya seguido preocupándose por esta serie a lo largo de los años.

¡Seguimos trabajando en el Capítulo 3! El Capítulo se hizo jugable de principio a fin. Después de reestructurar y reorganizar algunas partes, está quedando bastante bien. No puedo decir que esté terminado todavía, pero las partes inacabadas parecen cada vez menos numerosas. Eso es bueno, porque por mucho que intente dormir, hasta que el juego esté terminado, no veré más que pesadillas...

Antes estábamos considerando la posibilidad de incluir una sección de sigilo en el juego, en la que te escabullirías despacio, muy despacio, por ciertas zonas.

Después de desarrollar algunos conceptos, nos dimos cuenta de que una mecánica que básicamente te hace moverte más despacio no es necesariamente divertida.

Así que no lo hicimos...

De todos modos, siéntete libre de escuchar esta canción, ya que ahora está sin usar.

ZUN, el creador de TOUHOU PROJECT, y yo hemos creado un tema musical juntos. Nuestro tema aparecerá en el fan-juego oficial de la serie Touhou, Touhou Danmaku Kagura: ¡Phantasia Lost!

Si no lo sabes, Touhou es una serie de juegos en la que chicas anime se disparan hermosas balas entre sí mientras suena de fondo una extremadamente hermosa música japonesa inspirada en el Eurobeat. Esta gran serie ha sido una gran inspiración para mí incluso desde que estaba en la escuela primaria. No es exagerado decir que la serie Touhou es la única razón por la que UNDERTALE y DELTARUNE tienen un sistema de batalla basado en balas.

¡No sólo eso, sino que los instrumentos de la música de Undyne también son una referencia directa al juego! Lo cual... ¡hace que sea sorprendente que más de la mitad de la canción terminara siendo un remix de la música de Undyne realizado por el propio ZUN! ¡Habla de un sueño hecho realidad!

¡Este video de anuncio se transmitió en una transmisión en vivo de Touhou Danmaku Kagura! La transmisión fue realmente genial, con presentaciones en vivo de muchos músicos fanáticos famosos de Touhou, ¡e incluso contó con el propio ZUN como MC!

¡Hola! Soy Nelnal, el diseñador de personajes encargado de Sweet, Cap'n, K_K y Tasque Manager en DELTARUNE Capítulo 2. No puedo contener mi sorpresa al ver lo rápido que han pasado dos años desde el lanzamiento del Capítulo 2.

Cuando se publicó DELTARUNE Capítulo 1, yo era uno más de los millones de fans de la obra de Toby. Aún recuerdo con claridad lo estupefacto que me quedé al recibir una petición de trabajo de Toby...

He participado en diversos trabajos de diseño, pero los encargos que recibí para DELTARUNE fueron muy divertidos. Fue la primera vez que tuve un trabajo en el que, desde el mismo momento en que leí el encargo, mi mente se llenó de ideas, una tras otra.

Me pidieron que dibujara un personaje basado en el tema del "radiocasete", así que le di a Toby tres diseños para que eligiera. (La verdad es que también hice otros diseños, pero eso es un secreto).

Para mi sorpresa, ¡al final se decidió por los tres! Me hizo mucha ilusión.

Así que... ¡me enorgullece anunciar que me encargaron ilustrar algo de merch para este trío tan animado!

Entre el merch hay algunas pegatinas nuevas, así que sería genial que pudieras pegarlas en instrumentos, altavoces y otros equipos relacionados con la música y disfrutar del sonido junto a ellos. A finales de este mes anunciaremos más detalles.

Por cierto, como pequeña nota al margen, parece que los géneros musicales favoritos del trío son el dubstep para Sweet, el electro para K_K y el hip-hop para Cap'n.

Cierta empresa con la que trabajamos envió esto como posible texto promocional para algunos productos de los personajes de UNDERTALE.

It's UNDERTALE's 8th Anniversary!

Sadly, I don't have much energy for a wild and crazy event this year. Doing a newsletter every three months is a bit like celebrating the anniversary all year.

In other words, this year, I just want to go to sleep!

In celebration of this, Fangamer has created commemorative UNDERTALE sleepy-themed goods.

On a more serious note, thank you all very much everyone who's reading this! It means an immense amount that so many people have continued to care about this series over the years.

We are continuing to work on Chapter 3! The Chapter got playable from beginning to end. After some restructuring and reshuffling of different parts, it's feeling quite good to go through. Can't say it's finished yet, but the unfinished parts are certainly seeming less and less numerous. That's good because try as I might to sleep, until the game is finished, I'll see nothing but nightmares...

Earlier, we were considering having a stealth-focused section in the game where you would slowly, slowly sneak around certain areas.

After developing some concepts, we realized a mechanic which basically just makes you move slower isn't necessarily fun.

So, we didn't do that...

So, it's been announced...!

ZUN, the creator of TOUHOU PROJECT and I have created a musical track together! Our track will appear in the officially sanctioned Touhou series fan-game, Touhou Danmaku Kagura: Phantasia Lost!

If you're not aware, Touhou is a game series where anime girls shoot gorgeous bullet patterns at each other while extremely beautiful Eurobeat-inspired Japanese music plays in the background. This great series has been a huge inspiration to me even since I was in Elementary school. It's no exaggeration to say that the Touhou series is the sole reason that UNDERTALE and DELTARUNE have a bullet-based battle system.

Not only that, but the instruments in Undyne's music are a direct reference to the game as well! Which... makes it kind of amazing that more than half of the track ended up being a remix of Undyne's music by ZUN himself! Talk about a dream come true!

This announcement video aired on a live Touhou Danmaku Kagura stream! The stream was actually quite cool, featuring live performances by many famous Touhou fan musicians, and even featuring ZUN himself as an MC!

Also… I was there in the audience!

Hello! It's Nelnal, the character designer in charge of Sweet, Cap'n, K_K, and Tasque Manager in DELTARUNE Chapter 2. I can't contain my surprise at how quickly two years have passed since Chapter 2 released.

When DELTARUNE Chapter 1 was released, I was just one of the millions of fans of Toby's work. I still remember so clearly how completely dumbstruck I felt after receiving a work request from Toby…

I've been involved in a variety of design jobs, but the assignments I received for DELTARUNE were so much fun! It was the first time I've had work where, from the very moment I read the assignment, my mind became filled with ideas one after another.

I was asked to draw a character based on a "boom box" theme, so I gave Toby three designs to choose from. (The truth is I made other designs too, but that's a secret.)

To my surprise, in the end he decided to use all three...! I was so delighted!

And so...I'm proud to announce that I was tasked with illustrating some new merch for this upbeat trio!

Among the merch are some new stickers, so it'd be great if you could stick them on instruments, speakers, and other music-related gear and enjoy the sound together with them. More details will be announced later this month!

By the way, as a small side note, it seems like the trio's favorite musical genres are dubstep for Sweet, electro for K_K, and hip-hop for Cap'n.

A certain company we work with sent this as potential promotional text for some products of the characters from UNDERTALE
