it's spendog, one of the composers and spriters for this project.

"and i am also too lazy"

so, full honesty? progress has been… a little slow lately. life kinda came at a few of us hard the past month and we’re all juggling stuff, but we’re still cooking, don’t worry. we’ve got another theme done for a character i’m really hyped about. i ain’t dropping it here yet, because i’ve poured so much damn time into it and i want it to have a proper debut. trust me though. it’s GOOD.

in cooler news, our main character dave finally has a talking sound! yep. he talks. he actually has his own little voice blip now. no more silent protagonist like frisk or clover, and we’re leaning into that by letting his personality come through more when he interacts with enemies and friends. that also means more creative ways to deal with encounters. you can still be chill and make friends in this new, more vocal way, or not. but either way, it adds a lot more texture to his whole… vibe. his persona feels more real now. i think we're all really proud of that.

most of our team energy lately has been going into fleshing out arguably the biggest and therefore most hyped main area of the game: the jungle. it’s honestly shaping up to be such a cool space. dense, overgrown, a little creepy but also kinda beautiful? our concept artist has been killing it with enemy sketches and designs, and we’ve locked in a handful of the early enemies you’ll be bumping into there. i’ve also started scoring the jungle’s battle theme and wow, melody-writing has been kicking my as$. idk why but every note and chord progression sounds wrong to me lately lol. but i’m sticking with it.

oh, and just for fun, here’s a little unrelated teaser. i’ve been messing around with a short piece inspired by “credit song for my death” by like... vivivivivi or whatever his name is. it’s not actually tied to any specific moment in undertale green, more like a little side experiment to keep my brain from melting while working on the main tracks. figured i’d mention it here anyway just to show we have been working on stuff behind the scenes. even when progress feels slow, the music never really stops.

so yeah, nothing huge to announce yet, but progress is happening. it’s slower than we’d like, but i’m honestly just happy to still be here making this with such a sick team. appreciate y’all sticking around for the ride. catch ya next update ;D

Ps the creator and director doesn’t have an laptop so we didn’t have a newsletter with pictures and drawings and I can’t even text for like 20 min straight because of the pain in my thumb of the typing process.
