Hey everyone, I am happy to announce the release of the standalone Quest port for Update 1. I do apologize for the time it took to port, there were some issues behind the scenes of development and I had to personally buy a Quest headset myself to finish the port.
It was extremely difficult to port this game to the Quest due to the headset's limited hardware capabilities, and we wanted to make sure that Quest users get almost the exact same experiences as PCVR players. There are a few exceptions to this:
- The entire forest has been brought over to the Quest, however, to get the Quest to run it, we had to add fog. To compensate for this we added a compass on the player's hand that points back to spawn.
- Online kill tracking has been disabled due to the difficulty of connecting the Quest headset to GameJolt's API
These are the main differences between the Quest and PCVR version, as well as lowering the graphics quality. There are a few hiccups in the frame rate though in general, it is playable and runs well.
We recommend a Quest 2 headset as it was ported with that headset in mind.
In other news, the team and I have been working diligently on Update 2, the multiplayer update. We have finished all of our character models such as the 20 playable characters and the female titan, as well as the main concepts such as Multiplayer, Thunderspears, and Titan Shifting.
Our main goal for the release of Update 2 is the spring-summer of 2022. If you want to stay updated on new teasers and announcements feel free to join the discord server.
