Update on playable Stingray

I'll get to the point, I'm not making it anymore. I know how disappointing that may be for some of you, especially since I said before that I'd be developing this, but, I'm come to the decision to cancel it for a multitude of reasons.

The first is the actual game itself. A lot of people were talking about how cool the gameplay looked and how it was better than fnaf 2's which is not really true on my side of things.

From what I've personally played, the main gameplay loop of Stingray is very monotonous and slow, not helped by the fact that you have to beat all five nights in one sitting, which calculates to around 35 minutes, fucking yikes.

Even if I fixed that colossal problem though, the gameplay would still be pretty bad.

Don't get me wrong, I could've 100% fixed all these problems and then some, however, I kinda came to the realization that if I did, the game would not really resemble the video me and Leaf made, which brings me to my next issue.

I honestly just think Stingray is better as a video. The atmosphere built in that video with the blurry graphics and vivid imagery was something I'm very proud of, as a lot of people talked about how it reminded them of fnaf 2 back when they were a kid.

This is going to sound very silly on my part, but I honestly prefer that Stingray stays that way, as an abstract weird video that isn't sullied by a boring, kinda terrible playable version.

Overall, even though I could've made Stingray a good game, it probably would've taken a lot of time, time I don't really have anymore due to the size and scale of my main projects that still need to be finished, like Wario's and Nintendo World.

I could've just pushed it back and finished when my other projects were winding down and approaching the end of development, but that would've just been worse because the game probably wouldn't even come out till the middle or end of the year.

Which kinda leads me to my last point, the comments I've been getting. People have been kinda hounding me to get this out, and while it wasn't a problem initially, today one of them kinda pushed me over the edge.

Needless to say, it's kinda inevitable that I'd be getting these and considering how long Stingray would've taken me to finish with it being mixed in during the development of my larger projects, I probably would've gotten even more comments just like this.

You get the picture though, I've dragged this along enough. Sorry that I couldn't get this out, but I think it's for the best that it stays a video
