PREMISE
TRTF 1's premise is a short and simple one: a long time after working at Freddy's, in 2015 Mike Schmidt comes back to the restaurant, after reading on a newspaper that the animatronics have been fixed.
Unfortunately, not much has changed since Mike's week there. The animatronics still want to kill him. But hey, at least they brought back Foxy and The Puppet!
Something that must be noted about this game is that, originally, it was a fan made version of FNAF 3 that came out in 2014. We'll discuss this aspect more later, in the "Gameplay" and "Lore" sections. Just know that, after people mistook this game for the official FNAF 3, Scott himself asked Tyler Ahlstrom (TRTF's Creator) to change the title.
GAMEPLAY
We are in the FNAF 1 location, altough it has supposedly been renovated... Wich means that Tyler took FNAF 1 and 2 assets, used some Photoshop, and created this (only added locations to the FNAF 1 pizzeria are Party Corner and a useless Vent on the ceiling). Same goes with the animatronics, they switch from FNAF 1 renders to FNAF 2 renders (the ones they have when they're in the office). In Bonnie's case, his (or hers considering that Bonnie's a girl in TRTF lore) render is the FNAF 2 one but with a face. Stolen, like most of this game's things, apart from the code.
The doors in the office are broken, but luckily we can use our old Freddy Mask to ward off every single animatronic that might attack us... But the mask is toxic now. A scrapped mechanic from FNAF 2 that Tyler brought back. It works on every single animatronic, making the cameras (and, subsequently, the power usage) completely useless.
The animatronics are Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, Foxy, Golden Freddy, The Puppet, Ghoul BB (Stolen withered edit of BB), Shadow Dug, Shadow Lockjaw (both will be adressed in the TRTF 2 review). In the "FNAF 3" version of the game, there was another member. An animatronic cat called Sugar, who was a bunch of stolen Candy The Cat renders. Removed from the final version.
LORE
Now, onto the Lore of this game.
At the start, there's a cutscene wich shows the FNAF 2 office, and we can hear "Ring Around The Rosie" and the FNAF 1 Night 4 phonecall playing. At the end, Golden Freddy (AKA recolored Freddy power out jumpscare) attacks us. Then, the title screen. There are also between-nights cutscenes, but they don't tell anything important.
TRTF 1 takes place in 2015, as stated on the paychecks we have. During our first 5 nights, we are guided by Phone Guy, who here survived the Night 4 attack that killed him. Something I won't take a jab at is Tyler's VA work. It tries so hard to seem like Scott's iconic Phone Guy voice, that I can't help but ignore the quality.
On the Night 2 phone call, we learn that the animatronics are acting up again, despite being supposedly fixed, and that the engineers don't know what to do. On Night 3 Phone Guy tells us about an old animatronic at Freddy's, who gave gifts untill some asshole tore him apart (a likely reference to Sugar). On Night 4 the Phone Guy tells us that he believes he's being followed by someone bent on killing him (implied to be Puppet Kid's ghost mom. We'll delve into this in the later games). Then, on Night 5, while he's panicking, he fucking dies.
Before going on with Night 6, it's necessary to talk about the post death minigames, which can be accessed in the CN menù by imputting certain numeric codes. Something more fangames should do. They are, in order:
1) 2/6/16/0/0/0/0. We play as Puppet Kid, inside the Party Corner. We can roam around a little bit, but nothing more, all while "I'M SORRY" flashes on screen. Then, The Puppet jumpscares us.
2) 2/4/0/1/0/0. We play as Freddy, following Golden Freddy around the restaurant. After a while, we arrive in a room with Puppet Kid, a pool of blood, and The Puppet, who charges at us, ending the minigame.
3) 8/5/12/16/13/5/0. Here, we play as none other than The Purple Guy himself, going around Freddy's. After a while, we arrive in the backstage, approach Golden Freddy, and receive his jumpscare.
4) 1/9/8/7/0/0/0. We, as Goldem Freddy, walk around, eventually arriving in a room full of children, along with Puppet Kid. As we approach him, "IT'S ME" flashes on screen, and, for some short frames, Golden Freddy turns into The Purple Guy. Then, Golden Freddy attacks us.
5) "Who Is Purple Guy?!?". This, along with the next minigame, isn't accesible with a numeric code, and was inserted in the last version of the game. We are The Purple Guy inside the FNAF 2 office. Purple Guy picks up the phone, the Night 4 phonecall of FNAF 1 plays, and Golden Freddy attacks us. For a split second, Purple Guy's sprite turns into Golden Freddy's.
6) "Who Is Blue Guy?!?". A copy of Take Cake To The Children, but Puppet Kid doesn't die, but merely gets kidnapped.
All these minigames seem to imply one thing: Purple Guy and Phone Guy are the same person, and Purple Guy used a Golden Freddy suit to kill the 5 children. Wich... Isn't much of a reveal, considering this was the general agreement before FNAF 3.
On Night 6, along with everyone else, The Purple Guy appears too. In fact, he faked his death in the Night 5 phone call, and tries to kill us while wearing a Golden Freddy suit. This is proven by his jumpscare being called "Murderer" in the files (despite the same jumpscare of the opening cutscene, it's labeled differently there), and by the post Night 6 newspaper, that states that employee Fritz Smith was caught pounding on the office's doors wearing a suit, and caught.
Everything seems easy... Except that, on a TRTF 2 related post, Tyler confirmed that Phone Guy's death on Night 5 was real. And every mention of it afterwards states the same. So, it appears that Night 6 was retconned. And that's not getting into further speculations, for wich I link to you the official TRTF Wiki page about Purple Guy: https://justanotherdayinfreddy.fandom.com/wiki/Vincent.

FINAL THOUGHTS
TRTF 1, from an objective standpoint, sucks. Stolen assets, uninspired lore (altough Night 6 is a really interesting idea), bad VA... It's bad.
Yet... I don't hate it. Despite everything, this game was made by someone who clearly was full of passion about his game, and also, TRTF 1 runs really smoothly most of the time. Despite this not justificating the stolen assets, I kinda admire TRTF 1, just for this. And, for 2014/2015 fangames standards, this is actually high quality.
So... This is it for now. I'll see you in my TRTF 2 review. Bye.
