Hello to anyone who might be interested!
I have spent a few weeks remaking this game, Waves of Emotion. I once said I might add music, saving and more levels to the game, and I have, along with a new game!
This new remake justifies itself with more than just music, saving and levels (which are justification in themselves, don't get me wrong!). It's also got an updated design and updated look. It's practically a new game, which makes sense since it's a completely new project file-wise.
The original game had been made using C++ and an OpenGL library called GLUT. The remake is built using the Godot Game Engine. This allows me to do cool things like: Not have to worry about visuals, not have to worry about playing music, not have to worry about struggling through level design etc.
But in all seriousness, I've grown ever since I first made Waves of Emotion. I've grown mentally and emotionally, as well as in my technical skill. I can't guarantee that the game design and level design of this remake is perfect, far from it with a game as strange and simple in its gameplay like this one. But I think I've been able to tell a story and got some fun somewhere in this depressing game.
I've been holding off hitting the publish button. I don't know if I have everything ready to go. But I think I have to do it now, I've held off for too long. It's time to let this remake spread its wings, but I hope that I'm able to leave it in a good spot.
Ultimately, I hope my remake is something that my past self can be proud of. I certainly am proud of it now.
Cheers!
