Hello everyone! Achkids123 here, and um...yeah.
YAWD is delayed!
Okay! That's the long short of it! You can move on with your life if you don't want to read something really long!
Bye!
Alright, I shouldn't really leave you guys in the dark here, I'm going to be formal here and introduce you to me and the problems that are stopping me from continuing this game. So let's begin this again, but for the people who want to read why I delayed the game and how you can help me.
Hi, I'm Caleb Woodring! I'm the Creator of Your Adventures With Dave and a few other game mods that you may or may not have seen, over the past couple years, it has been my dream to create something that people like and actually laugh at that isn't a meme extravaganza and I discovered DSAF and the factor that people have been making mods of the game! So I went to the creator of DSAF and asked for permission to make this game and he allowed me to as long as I followed rules, so I went straight to coding the game. Now here's the problem that I came to at the time, I didn't have RPG Maker and the coding engine I had sucked. You couldn't do battles or anything with money but I just wanted to continue making this so you all can have a good time playing it. Soon enough, I came across people who had a team of their own who were making their own DSAF games, I will not state their names for privacy reasons but I'll use code names for a few. I was accepted into the team but soon enough 'Jerk Bag' JB wanted me to change the game sprites constantly and with the engine I had, well, it sucks to replace sprites. I left the team but most of the members still remain my friends to this day, the most important of these friends in this case is 'UtahFoxy' or UF who helped me with scripting ideas and even sprites. UF was the one who helped me move over to RPG Maker MV in the first place, however moving over to that engine contains a few problems.
I'm new to designing RPG games.
And I know that you might be thinking 'Why can't your friends help you?' Well, the answer is that my friends have lives too and I don't want to bother them all the time about it. However, this is a minor issue cause a few of my friends can make professional games and are open most of the time (I'm just busy, this will be further explained in a bit). Along with me being new to designing RPG games, I have to export the textures over and make sure that RPG Maker can even read it in the first place and it doesn't look weird. Now, you may be getting a basic idea why I'm delaying the game, but just in case you aren't here's a recap:
I'm changing engines to RPG Maker and I don't have experience with it...
but there's also the factor that I have...
School.
Yes, if you haven't figured out, I'm a teen and school takes up most of my time on Weekdays and I can't just work on Weekends, especially after what happened last year (Low Grades and overdue assignments. = Everyone was panicking at the end of last year FYI).
Now you maybe wondering how you can help me, well, it's rather simple for one way and kinda complicated for the other. One way you can help me is to join my Discord and help test my game and give me ideas.
Link is right here: https://discord.gg/TDkpUt8
Anyways, the other way is more complicated due to the factor that Dave's voice is on a registered text to speech program and if you use it too many times without a license then you will be blocked off for a long time. I've been recently unblocked but I know if I keep on working on this game then I'll be blocked before I know it.
What I'm saying is that if any of you have a VoiceForge licence and you would be able to give it to me or you would be able to share it with me then you would be a saint to my game's progress. You will be given credit and a hard to miss shoutout in the game, or you can become a character in it yourself if you wanted. Nothing plot related though as the plot has been nailed down already.
Anyways. Thank you for actually reading this and understanding my problem. I will still be working on this game every now and then to try and get a RPG Maker demo out for your gaming pleasure.
