What does a good character design needs outside of the visible design?

I always feel like my none dramatic characters are boring and I want to try and change that since just because your not living a dramatic story doesn't mean your boring


So yeah like I said what do characters need to be interesting? what should I think about more? what am I not thinking enough about??

As a little example one of my most liked character (I believe) is when it comes to his everyday live, boring. He has no hobbies outside of hanging out with his bf, helping others and doing his job.

In general when it comes to characters even when they not my own I can't seem to think of what they do in there free time. Like what do people do in there free time????

I feel like I'm the most boring person do be around when it comes to things to do XD like I can sit there and just day dream and be happy.

I try to mainly post art and try not to get to messy with my art post but lately it's getting a bit messy and I wanna say sorry about that btw ^^"
